Launched! Welcome to the creepy world of SCP-D38813

Hello world!

I’ve been a fan of the SCP Foundation for years, and of spooky stories for even more. Growing up with the birth of the internet, I was privileged to experience the inception of the creepy pasta, a scary legend spread in ramshackle fashion, thorough bulletin boards, then forums, and now all manner of mediums. This modern folklore has been fascinating to watch evolve, borrowing from the horror tropes that came before and contributing back plenty of it own, both modified and original.

It’s in that “yes and” spirit of that I present to y’all today a creepy pasta puzzle game with an all new story, that also contains a selections of great creepy pasta short stories. I hope you enjoy the satisfying basic gameplay of working through a cypher, while reading stories that make you go, “hmm?” If these stories speak to you, please go check out the massive body of work that is the SCP Wiki. There are some real gems there!

On the Playdate, I am delighted to marry a creepy pasta with this very physically real artifact. To me, the Playdate is a wonderfully successful expression of love for gaming, achieved in a very unorthodox way. Its simplicity belies a really fundamental understanding of why it is folks love to play, video games or otherwise, and the community that has grown around that continues to amaze and delight me.
